I studied contemporary jewellery, then 3-D design in wood ,metals, ceramics, and plastics .However, making images has been an inextricable part of my life from infancy. The excitement of exploring different materials is limitless and by venturing into different perspectives and expressions the resulting images can be suprisingl and fresh. My influences are and have been extremely varied , from painting murals in restaurants and clubs, sign-writing, designing publicity, mirrors and clocks, and photography in Brighton , to, photographing graffiti and making paintings and collages of everyday life in the Languedoc.

Here the landscape and architecture are bursting with images waiting to be captured; from vineyards to cathedrals, and the culture is rich in inspiring traditions and celebrations, eagre to be enjoyed and perpetuated. My interest as an artist is to capture the essence of my subject. Sometimes this maybe a feeling or a mood and sometimes a story may unfold. Occasionally the image is simply about the beauty of a line or the energy of colour.
